Tyre Buying Guide

Choosing the right tyres

There is more to buying tyres than simply going to your dealer and picking them off the rack. Here are some of the things you should think about in advance:

The weather

The climate where you live will play a factor. For example, if temperatures drop below 7°C during the winter months, you should consider buying a set of all season/winter tyres.

How you drive

Do you do a lot of miles, or do you like to push your car’s capabilities from time to time? Take a look at our tyres’ performance characteristics to help you find a tyre that suits your style of driving.

Your vehicle

The tyres that come with your car (also known as OE - original equipment tyres) are selected because they’re well suited to your car, but that doesn’t mean they’re necessarily the best ones for you. Check your manual for other recommendations or do some further research yourself.

Your budget

Whatever tyre you choose, it must fit your budget. Look at the EU Tyre Label guide too – it will help you find tyres that are particularly long-lasting. Finally, don’t forget that Ulster Tyres can also give you advice about price/quality etc..
